We are delighted to announce that three works by Anders Sunna have been acquired by Tate.
Sunna is a member of the Indigenous Sámi peoples who live and care for the lands of the region of Sápmi, which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula, Russia. The works are a significant contribution to the building of Indigenous art in the Tate collection and were acquired with funds provided by the AKO Foundation Acquisition Fund for Indigenous Art from Northern Europe.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Kimberley Moulton, Adjunct Curator Indigenous Art Tate Modern and the AKO Foundation.
